Canungra State School Playgroup

The Canungra State School Playgroup runs in the school hall on Friday mornings from 9am to 10am at no cost for non-school age children from our community.

Activities for young children aged birth to 5 year olds

Role play area (free play)

Free play assists young children with:

• social and personal learning
• language learning and communication.
• imaginative play

Art and craft

Craft activities assist young children with:

• fine motor skills
• problem solving skills
• early mathematical understanding.

Nursery rhymes

Nursery rhymes assist young children with:

• oral language
• early literacy learning.

Story time

Stories assist young children with:

• early literacy learning
• speaking and listening skills.
